Hello.
I may be getting ADSL soon.
I currently share a 128K line with my brother at home.

I manage the downloading and download about 3.5gig in a weekend.

My Current ISP is UUNET and have never had a problem with them before.

Me and my brother only go online during the weekends and we have worked the price ratio out between ISDN 128K and DSL 192K.

Because we go online during weekends only we dont pay all that much.
We have the Infinit call running also.

If we had to get ADSL 192K we will pay R100 more each month.
Thats not to bad i guess but the cap is still a puny 3Gig.

Any suggestions that may tilt the balance?

Thanks guys. This is my first post here.

Cyndicate, welcome to MyADSL :).

I assume that you're an online gamer since you have this incredible self discipline of only going online over weekends...? - I'm a netaddict so I cannot be offline for more than 1 day...:D

I'm not entirely sure about the pricing of ISDN using both channels [128K] versus HomeDSL192, but one thing you should be aware of is that your 128K on ISDN should be fairly much guaranteed whereas 192K is the maximum that Telkomonopoly will guarantee - i.e. it could be decreased by contention at or after the local exchange.

I would still seriously recommend ADSL over ISDN - just gives you more freedom to do what you want when you want, but only up to 3GB international...:(

Have you got all the installation [startup] charges worked out?

Thanks.
Well i do have a younger brother and he is the gamer i dont enjoy online gaming because of the games that get played.

I love the internet and when at school i day-dream about it all the time. [ This does not help ]

I forgot to mention, My dad has a connection from the house to work.
Its connected to an ADSL but its maximum speed it 33K due to the line.

Its free for us but i never use it because it cannot use irc or Bt and its difficult because of the clear speed.

Also i forgot to mention that my current ISP is UUNET and is not payed for by us.
It belongs to my dads company, the one he works for.

Also if we were to get ADSL we might get the same.
We may get a free ISP if i can put it that way.

It could be UUNET.

Thisb is a might.

This is my last year in school so when im out of school time to study.
UOFS is around the corner from me so for the next 2 - 3 years i am going to be living with my parents.
