May IS Capped Users

I know it is a bit early but some people have already done in excess of 30 gigs so i thought i'd start it early. :)

I managed 40 gigs last month.

ATM i am being a real abuser. Done a whole 2gigs :(

Anyone been capped yet??
 
At 15kB/s?? LOL I don't think many of us are going to be capped as early as we used to
 
That is for sure! I know i am struggling on my 192k line. Just thought that some peeps wouldve blown their cap on 1mbit lines already.

I spose it doesnt really matter to me though , as you said highflyer, i am going to have to really push it to even get to my cap :(:(

Please bring me up to speed here please. Are u guys on IS ADSL 3Gig accounts and you're allowed to exceed your limit every month? Where do I sign up? And when you say it's no local access what does that mean?

Dude, You get 2GB / 3GB of 'anywhere' bandwidth. Once you have reached that limit, you are 'softcapped' which means that you can't access any international websites. at all.

You can however still access local SA content... Until you reach the second limit of 30GB. Then you are hard capped, and you can't even authenticate anymore. That is what we are talking about.

yeah it is really silly. I vote whoever started the thread should be allowed to make a poll as well and if the mods dont like it then they can always change it/delete it!
 
ISH, I am at 15gig and my local downloads are running at 2-6kb/sec on a dsl384? damn dialup is faster, is there anyone getting this also? I am getting it at nights even, not just during work hrs.

This is due to the current IS problems. There are probs with IS- SAIX peering links and telkom seem to have their own problems as always!

Add to that the fact that line speeds have been 'adjusted' by telkom. 192k users getting 15-18k instead of the 25-35k they were getting b4. That is all telkom's fault though. Nothing to do with IS.
 
Surely more people must have been capped by now?

I am only on 27 gigs. Been really hard to restrict myself to that but i cant afford another account this month :(
