I thought that was the reason for monthly capping.....
 
For April, I chewed up 38.7Gigs on my 192k line

Account No. 1 : 18.6gb
Account No. 2 : 20.1gb
 
I think that you got the date wrong. This is the 1st of MAY, not the 1st of APRIL... You are a month late !!!!

Capped on my first Hellkom account already.... :mad:

Only got 13GB total this month :confused:

I'm quite aware of that. I'm allready at 19Gig and climbing on my first account and i'm not capped yet : )
 
Capped today

Total usage for May : 10.4326 GB so usage must be just over this

It seems like more and more people are cottoning on to Telkom's way of doing things. This is no good.
 
I ask you also... what's sposed to happen when you are capped? I can no longer even dial up to Telkom. I thought you were sposed to be able to get just to their site?

Yeah, slowly but surely all broadband in RSA is having the life squeezed out of it :(
 
I'm not sure how stable IBurts is, but what I could see it works out cheaper comparing speed with bandwidth to Telkom's 1024kb/s for 3Gb of cap.

Exactly 3 gigs as I make this post - and only the 17th of the month. Find myself constantly throttling my internet - thanks to telkom. Caps suck!! Positives and negatives: the 3 gig isn't a hard cap - but now live in dread for the rest of the month. And some poor suckers are living with a hard cap. Does it get any more miserable? I think not!
 
Is Telkom still allowing enough that its worth me using TelkomInternet when I get my line next month?
 
The way I see it is if you don't game internationally then there's no point using TI. Local gaming gives the same kind of performance on IS, and every type of content you could want can be found on their newsgroups. If you do lots of international gaming and torrents then TI is the better solution at the moment. Although I don't think that they're capping as high as they were because a lot of people caught on that they were soft capping and have been using their caps to the max, so there's little leftover data allowance to be distributed among everyone else.
