Dear Valued Subscriber,

Every South African recognizes that our country is faced with some pretty stiff challenges. South Africans look for solutions, however, and our action-orientated nature will ensure that we eventually overcome our national obstacles. iBurst is doing its bit by giving subscribers the option of signing up for iB Sure, which offers stressed-out South Africans peace of mind.

iB Sure provides three insurance options covering hardware and contracts. They are credit life, short term and combined insurance. The credit life option insures the subscriber's contract against death, disability and retrenchment. The short term insurance option covers subscribers' modems against theft and damage. Combined insurance offers both credit life and short term insurance for all-round cover. See www.iburst.co.za for more details.

The deregulation of the telecommunications industry announced by Communications Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri in September 2004 means that dozens of ISPs are beginning to take advantage of cost-saving Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology and this of course includes iBurst.

We've given affordable voice communication in South Africa a boost with the launch last month of iCall, a VoIP service that enables iBurst subscribers to make calls at competitive rates to any cellphone or landline in the world. With iCall, it is cheaper to call a landline number in Australia, China, the UK, USA and most of Europe than it is to call Cape Town from Johannesburg using a traditional landline. Check out www.iburst.co.za for more information about iCall.

Many of our subscribers will be aware that Ed Hall, our erstwhile Head of Customer Support, left iBurst to pursue one of those proverbial "offers you can't refuse". Ed was running a customer care support blog on www.iburst.co.za. Because he did such a wonderful job of helping people via the blog, iBurst has decided to retain both the blog and the name "Ed's Blog". "Ed" is a concise, friendly, likeable name already familiar to many iBurst subscribers. iBurst colleagues Shireen, Carlos and Henry will now be handling technical and general customer care queries submitted via Ed's Blog and they look forward to assisting three times as many subscribers!

More good news is that iBurst now covers all of South Africa's major airports, including OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport and Durban International Airport. iBurst also increased its coverage footprint during April by adding the following towns and suburbs to its coverage map: Rosettenville, Wonderboom, Rynveld, Heidelberg, Diepkloof, Lonehill and Montroux.

As winter sets in and the outdoors hold less appeal, you may want to use iBurst and Google to treat yourself to a virtual log fire burning on your very own desktop. Before you do, please warn other members of your household that your computer is not really on fire or else you may wake up to a soggy mouse.

Warm regards,

The iBurst Team

Hmm :/

Nothing amazing, a few more basestations for Gauteng, great great. :(

Where is "Google Log Fire" btw.. I've never heard of this, and I'm assuming its pretty useless.

Lol, never seen a job application requiring your name to be Ed before :D

So if they have customer support now, does this mean they will have another rep on myadsl?

I'm Amazed

I'm amazed at the patience of the many Iburst subscribers to this forum. I'm not going to bother complaining about Iburst anymore, nor am I gonna waste my time logging complaint after complaint. What I am gonna do and what I have already done is to stop paying them. Try it, it's a simple solution - they'll soon learn the importance of assigning value to their customers. Stop complaining and stop paying.

tribsm problem is if you don't pay iburst who do you pay? Telkom???

I can't wiat for neotel to give some sort of compeition!

So if they have customer support now, does this mean they will have another rep on myadsl?

Well they've always had Customer Support... I don't think they've found a new head to replace Ed yet though.

Those managers took over from Ed after he left, so nothing will change wrt a rep for MyADSL.
