Hi, I have looked at various courses one can go on and they seem to be huge amounts of cash for temporary access to tutorial DVD's and the maya software, with a certificate at the end of it all. I do not care about a certificate as this is for my hobby, not career.
So I think the better route would be for me to simply buy some training DVD's for myself at a fraction of the cost. That way I can take my time, and go over things as many times as i like and refer back to the tutorials as needed ^_^
Can anyone recommend a maya training DVD for beginners that covers the following in detail, that I would be able to get my hands on?
-Modelling
-Texturing
-Complete Animation in depth, via rigging
it needs to be compatible with v8.5 which is the version im using.
I have looked at a few FREE training videos, and i managed to get started with modelling and texturing, although i need practice. I have yet to find a good, complete tutorial on animation, and most of the modelling and texturing options remain a mystery as I only know the options apparent in the work flow of the free tutorials I have seen.
Videos are much more informative than books with this kind of thing, and I would be even happier if the DVD focuses on GAME character creation specifically. If it included Zbrush and or photoshop in the pipeline, that would be even better but is not necessary ^_~
I also don't want it to give me all sorts of out of the box stuff to simply connect together, I want to be able to create stuff for myself and actually learn something, so it needs to cover everything without simply providing me with files and no further explanation as to how I would survive in the real world without free content.
If you have had great success with learning modelling, texturing and animation for maya, then please do tell me which tutorial dvd's you used and how you would rate it. Its strengths, its weaknesses, and what you learned to do by the end.
TIA
