Hello mbb buddies, was wondering if anybody knows any good lowering kits in south africa (springs or coilovers) for a mazda 2 (not the new ones) and a round price figure

I love the subtle styling kit on the 1.5 individual but it looks extra wicked when lowered. Especially a white one with gloss black rims... dont worry buddy, I wont go over the top with it, I also appreciate the styling

Man you got yourself one hell of a sweet deal! And how's she riding with eibachs? I know some cheaper alternatives are not worth it because of the bouncy ride. Once followed my colleague in his vw caddy and it was bouncing like it was in a latino music video... that eibach link was great though, didn't know they catered for so many local cars

Ahhhh clever man, you're following the rule book I see.

Car will look neat going low. Phone Koni for a price, best brand on the planet .

Going low means sports shocks + springs OR coils as you've mentioned above. Coils are ridiculously expensive though ...

The ride still feels like stock but it dropped about 30mm. Cornering feels much better than with stock springs. The cheaper brands apparently gives a very hard ride. From the bit of research I did, with the Eibach springs you get about a 30mm drop and still a stock ride whereas the H&R springs you get a slightly lower drop but a slightly harder ride. But at the end of the day it's down to personal taste.

Not necessarily. If you fitting the Eibach Prokit then you don't need to replace the shocks as that's only a 30mm drop. If on the otherhand you fit the Eibach Sportline kit then, yes, you would need to change your shocks as the drop is up to 50mm. Or at least that is my understanding of it.

Well, you putting more strain on the standard shock which decreases its life. So sure you don't have to change to a sports shock at all ( even going lower than 30mm) , but the shock will need to be replaced sooner than expected.

Just got someone who drives with koni coils and he says they're awesome in corners but you'll piss blood when you get out your car... they're THAT hard

To whom? Suppose it is in the eyes of the beholder. Whenever I see a lowered it raised car I think of backyard mechanics with a day job at a scrapyard.

The lowered cars' drivers look extra stupid in a parking lot when they have to come to an almost complete standstill at every bump and dip in the road.

...but that's just me.

Maybe that's how he set his dampening , to stiff/firm.

When I ran Koni coils on my MKVI , they were set to soft and I went very low ( no wheel gap), and they were very comfortable. The day I sold the car and took the coils out, put stock suspension back on, I realised how great Koni coils are.

That's part of the swag, especially when there is a line of cars held up behind you giving you the whole five minutes to negotiate a speed hump. :D
