I have just bought a Mazda BT50 2008 3.0CRDi, but the vin plate (in the engine compartment) is missing. The car did go through the test after I showed evidence of the chassis number (at the left back wheel) and the engine number (underneath the head). The car has also been cleared and is definitely not stolen (thank goodness). I presume the mechanic that serviced the engine last (+/- 15 000 km ago) might have dislodged the plate and never put it back again, but he says that he does not have it.
Does anybody know where or how I can get a reprint of the plate?
