Hello!

I took my car for a service yesterday, and I need to replace the back shocks. They quoted me about R1750 each. (And R2100 labour)
Does anyone know where I can get them for cheaper that's still good quality, it doesn't have to be OEM.

I also have to replace the Belt Tensioner and V-Belt. Any recommendations to get these parts?

Full disclosure I know very little about cars.

What region are you in? Midas should have the parts but if you are not well versed with vehicle repair you would need a good mechanic that doesn't overcharge

Go to one of the tyre fitment outlets and let them fit new ones. If you know little about cars, don't try doing it yourself.
Absolutely don't plan on doing it myself. My uncle knows a good mechanic. Thought I could just get the parts beforehand and he could just install it

JHB
Damn, I forgot to mention this.
Midas should have the parts but if you are not well versed with vehicle repair you would need a good mechanic that doesn't overcharge, I could only offer a suggestion for a cape town based mechanic but truth be told what you need to do for the car isn't overcomplicated and a few YouTube videos would give you the steps and the tools required would work out cheaper than a mechanic doing the work for you.

Goldwagen quoted me R2730 for a pair Bilstein Shocks.
And about R600 at a trusted mechanic for installation.

Good deal?

I also phoned Midas and they quoted me R2360 for a pair of Monroe or KYB (unsure which)

Any thoughts?

Both are good, I personally would go for the Bilsteins which are known for a good quality, but for a 2015 model you make the choice yourself.

I'm also leaning towards the Bilstein. I was checking the reviews online and they said Bilstein are good but expensive. My concern that this is too cheap lol compared to the KYB's
