Where can I buy a used or relatively cheap boot arm - I am not sure what they called, its those things that hold up the boot that have compressed air in them. I just need 1. Mazda are quoting like R2000 for one, I cant believe thats what they cost. Its the first Mazda5 Model that came out.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Not a Mazda, but its these things

I tried using el-cheepo ones on my old Opel Astra but they couldn't hold the boot up, so took them back and got the original parts from the agents. I got a quote from Merc for my current car about a week ago and they're around R500 each, so R2000 each from Mazda is clearly a ripoff.

Midas should be able to sort you out.

If you were in Cape Town Goodhope Spares would have been the perfect place. Or call Gabriel shocks directly even.

Use a broomstick to keep your bootlid up.....R2.50 or free if you have an used one. ;):D

LOL!! I actually did think of this, but the wife will not be impressed - for me its the perfect solution :D

My dad have been using a piece of wood for years to keep the boot lid open on his old Rover ever since he backed-up into the halve open garage door with the boot lid open and broke one the struts off. :o
