$mb line with massive problems

Anyone know what the hell is going on?

I have a 4mb line and my router is showing this :

DownStream Connection Speed 1472 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 384 kbps


I get disconnected every 5 - 10 minutes and my latency is shot to ****.

I reported my line to Telkom last week friday, they sent a dude out on saturday who "fixed" my line

the problem did not go away

I reported it again on Sunday, they sent a dude out on tuesday, wednesday he was back and replaced my line to the exchange.

same problem.

I reported it again on wednesday night and they havent even called me back

any idea?

I doubt its my router

strangest thing however is that late at night it seems to be fine???
 
I was on 3mb for about 6 months ( too far for 4mb )

I had the exact same problem for about 5 weeks, even synced @ 712 once
After numerous, repeated phone calls, i, "we" had to force the sync speed to 1024.
Yes i know it sucks big time, but i know there must be a line fault somewhere, considering i was on 3mb.I feel your pain brudda.

my 4mb used to do the exact same thing, i phoned them and they just said i was to far from the exchange to get full 4mb. Mine started off at 1mb but now-a-days it syncs at 2200. its alright i suppose :) but ya u prob to far and the lines are old
 
the exchange is like a few hundred meters away.

Whats pathetic is that when you use the report an incident tool on their site, you get a response telling you to call the toll free number.

JESUS CHRIST!!! why do they even have it there?

Why have an online fault reporting tool if all they do is reply and tell you to call the toll free number

which is expensive from a cell phone but you have no choice seeing that YOUR LINE IS DOWN!!!
