There are two Mauritian FTA TV channels, MBC1 and MBC2, beaming to SA from Eutelsat 7B:

I installed a 75cm Ellies dish (Builders), and was able to lock onto the satellite from Cape Town (quite tricky, because SES-5 is just next door, 2 degrees to the west).

What's weird is that, in the morning, MBC1/2 are received with a SNR of about 65%, but as the day progresses the signal degrades, until it is less than 10% in the evening. Other channels such as ZBC and ORTC have constant SNR during the day. The dish is solidly installed, and there are no other factors such as strong wind, rain etc.

Anyone else viewing FTA on this satellite?

Classic sign of poor antenna alignment on a side lobe. Get decent antenna for starters chuck out that inflated bird bath and repoint the antenna.
