Did you know a big mac contains about 845 calories?

Burger = 495
Chips = 340
Diet coke = 10

Wow so on average I think we burn about 2000 calories a day. Super punch that Mc Donald burger has.

Shouldn't the average meal be less than that?

We cooked fast dinner.

Soft Portugese rolls crammed with grilled bacon with lashings of HP sauce. Optional fried egg and home made lemon/lime aide with 4 cups of sugar per jug. Leftover roast potatoes cooked in duck fat reheated. Makes McD look like Weighless.

Not to be rude, but I think we use KJ in SA. Those 845 CAL would therefore be approx 3 500 KJ.

Go check out a movie called "Super-size Me". You will NEVER touch McDs again. ;)

Never ever eat something that doesn't rot.

No - you'll be put off McD's for about an hour... then you'll forget about it :)

Anyway, what were you expecting? Healthy?

I watched that movie and had a sudden craving for McDonalds.

I love-love-love it!

McD is a last resort meal.

Here's an ingredient list for the BigMac buns:
Enriched bleached wheat flour (malted barley flour, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, iron, folic acid), water, high fructose corn syrup, yeast, vegetable oil (partially hydrogenated soybean, corn, canola, and/or cottonseed). Contains 2% or less of salt, wheat gluten, malted barley flour, alpha amylase, mono- and diglycerides, propionic acid, phosphoric acid, calcium sulfate, ammonium chloride, monocalcium phosphate, ascorbic acid, azodicarbomide, corn flour, soy flour, potato flour, calcium peroxide, diacetyl tartaric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides, ethoxylated mono- and diglycerides, silicon dioxide, sodium steryol 2 lactylate, fungal enzymes, emulsifiers, sodium or calcium propionate (as a preservative), sesame seeds.
Bloody chemistry lesson. WTF happened to normal bread dough?

. WTF happened to normal bread dough?

This is normal dough that has been pumped full of softeners, vitamins, preservatives and mold retardents. It's destined for long shelf life as fresh. kind of like pumping a dead body full of formaldehyde. Keeps it looking good longer.
One of the reasons you are hardly ever likely to find a slightly stale bun like steers, spur, kfc, sometimes do- you know the kind that flakes off big dry chunks. It should be nice soft moist and squidgey. That's the Big Mac Bun unless some
griller overcooks it, but I'm sure the company built in a chemical failsafe so even grillers with IQ's of 6 would have to heat those rolls a while to char.
