McDonald's pulls ad that 'exploited child bereavement'

I dunno, I thought this advert was pretty good. It did have a genuine emotional message attached, and I could relate: when I lost my grandfather (he was like my father to me after my parents were divorced), all I had left of him as well was a small box of valuables to go through and try to think about the stories behind each one. I still miss him today and do think about parallels between myself and him.

In this sterile world of false emotions, anything - even a McDonalds advert - that can connect us to a true moment of honesty in our lives is welcome.

You know they trying to sell you a burger by manipulating your emotions right?

And so? I'm mature enough that I can enjoy the advert for what it reminds me of and the message it is giving to young children. Like the article that was shared above states, it is NOT saying "Come eat a burger and forget about your dead dad", but rather offering a ray of hope to some bereaved children who are missing a parent and looking for anything they can hold onto that will bring them closer across the void.

If you can't appreciate that, then I don't think the advert's the problem, do you?
