i have a logitech universal remote, is it possilbe to just buy a ir receiver for the pc, instead of buying the whole remote ect???

So you're asking if this universal remote meant for tv's etc would work on Windows MCE with an addon IR Receiver?

IMO - no

MCE remotes are quite specific and I think they were designed to use wholly different frequencies than a normal remote. May be wrong though
