MCITP

lol 700/1000, I got romped a bit by AD RMS and AD CS

Mmm... on the dot, looks suspect. :p

I have a suspicion that Microsoft failed a lot of candidates to force them to rather go for Server 2012 certification.

Hopefully they have changed their stance now.

hahaha dude when I saw the msg "congratulations you have passed, you score is 700" i was like :wtf:

Stupid thing is they don't give you a print out with your answers and what the correct answer actually is...

i am just finishing up my MICTP cert then going to focus on networking, not sure if i will upgrade my microsoft cert to the new MCSE later on will see. Mid June I am planning to start with CCNA and apart from this I am also busy studying through unisa.

Can never hurt to have a CCNA, especially with IP6 included.

Also more into networking, but need to know the different OSes as well.

Unless a guy with an A+/N+ gets angry jealous like and moers you.

same happened, I wrote my 70-680 exam in august 2011, and then changed work later that year thought I would continue in 2012 and get my mcitp: ent admin but yeah got lazy and found me in a situation that I don't have the time to start from scratch and go mcse route.

I am just getting ms cert so that I got it but I enjoy networking more and also don't have to deal with end users issues...

what irritates me there is so many ppl in management positions and get paid a hell of a lot of money but they don't have the skills to be even a desktop support techie never mind even being an IT Manager

Well, they got their diploma's in 1995, and got 10+ years experience.

funny enough she only got her diploma in 2003, according to her she knows how to implement AD etc but when you ask her what an "A" record is or what the different groups in AD you get she can't tell you.....

But then again she comes from government so that explains her high salary.

If they're in management they are not supposed to do desktop support techie type work. I don't see you going off not going off about the techies who don't know about budgets, asset management, devaluations, and amortisation, or capacity planning...

In my opinion even the most experienced technical manager should know just enough to know when their subordinates are trying to bull**** them. Managers need to apply their energy and focus elsewhere, and appoint people who are technically stronger than them to do the "grunt" work.

As the MCITP is expiring, i am only doing a MCITP server administrator 2008 as it gets converted to an MCSA 2008.

Even if you did the MCITP enterprise admin, it converts to an MCSA 2008 so i see no point in doing it.

I am writing 70-686 next week, last one that i need :P

I know there's no point in doing it, it's more satisfaction on a personal level for me. :)

how was the 70-642 exam? planning in writing it at end of the month.

Planning on doing this but the new version...

Short summary of main topics and "nuggets" should do it?

https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-za/mcitp-certification.aspx

Hmm, thought there was something new...

According to link, I have to do this:
1. MCITP
- 70-640
- 70-642
- 70-643
- 70-647
- 70-680 (choice)

Which will yield the title:
MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008

EDIT: Oh look https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-za/mcsa-windows-server-certification.aspx

Now I'm in a bit of a pickle. 3 exams for MCSA 2012, or 5 exams for MCSA 2008.

How recognised is the MCSA 2012? I know in job apps they state MSCE 2008+
