A sub-seven minute lap time of the Nürburgring circuit:

That car is frigging awesome! But then again I also love the F1.

They both look like they are ready to kill you if your balls begin to override your skill level.

I never thought that anyone (production car) will be capable in beating the new GT-R NISMO lap time (7:08.69)… Still though, the Porsche 918 Spyder (6:57) is the unbeaten rival.

Apparently the P1 did it in 6:47.

Wish they'd just upload the video and get it over with.

Should this be true! Amazing!

To take in consideration that both the Porsche and Nissan was not stock standard on the track, but had track packages installed, not taking tires in consideration.

The next stock standard car on the lap time list is the Gumpert Apollo Sport (7:11”57) and quick on its tail the legendary Dodge Viper ACE (7:12:13). Next the LFA (7:14:64), which had a Nurburgring Package installed, which they consider is still stock standard…

Apparently Porsche want to take another run on the track as they believe their time set is too slow and that the Weissach Package should achieve better results than what they achieved, this is a decision they made prior the P1 run.

What I do see rather interesting on all the runs are that the Americans and Germans (only Porsche) achieve amazing results with stock standard cars, but only changing the tires where some are even stock.

In the end, I’m still a GT-R maniac… one day I will own one.

I don’t know why they are withholding times? Apparently the new Mustang also had a run with impressive results taking in consideration that it is a brick propelled by quantum mechanics… Ford will probably only release this when the car is launched.

If that time is legit, that means they broke the fastest production car around the nurburgring which is held by the Radical SR8 LM.

That's not their reasoning.

Jeremy tested the P1 on Top Gear last night. Took it to a wet Spa track for some epic TV. Richard is testing the 918 in a few weeks. They will only release the TG lap times then. Jeremy reckons the Porsche does not stand a chance. Apparently the La Ferrari is still not ready...

I watched Clarkson's test last night on Top Gear. Pretty impressed with his driving skill on a wet Spa track.

Was quite amusing to watch the passerby's reaction when the McLaren passed using its batteries when he driving through one of the towns. Only a 6 mile range on the batteries though.

Here is my expectations on the same track:

1. Porsche
2. McLaren
3. Ferrari

The 918 comes with pedigree, also think that it has less power than its rivals, let’s wait and see.

Porsche’s 918 Spyder has a hybrid engine capable of 661kW and is able to accelerate to 100km/h 2.8 seconds. According to the automaker, fuel consumption is 2.6 litres/100km.

Where is that top 10 most economical car list again? :D
