Im looking for a buyer for my baby , she's in mint condition , looks brand new , the keys still have that matt look , she comes with CS6 and MS office , around what price should I part with her for , also has sentimental value ,

Why don't you just keep it if you love it so much?

A friend tried to sell me his for R8000

But I got a new Lenovo X1- i7 8gig 256ssd for R5800 ... so I would suggest perhaps R5000 ?

The only selling point(s) of the cMBP, are [a.] it still has an optical drive, and [b.] it is really easy (and accordingly) noticeably cheaper to upgrade both the RAM and HDD, with 3rd party products.

So it's a generation behind, but a 16GB RAM 1TB fusion is still going to purr along nicely...

But that's pretty much where it ends. I have one - going to hurt big time to purchase a rMBP with equivalent RAM and storage. But, such is Apple.

If it's really a mid-2012 model it also means that it should have the necessary bluetooth chipset to support the new Handoff features in OsX10.10 which is useful.

True. It does indeed, unlike the 2011 (unless you start cludging).

Tell me about it - my previous machine was the 2011 13" MBP and it didn't make the cut. I'm surprised how much I use the new features since upgrading my hardware - in particular AirDrop.

If I can find the appropriate bluetooth dongle I'll probably set it up on the old MBP for the missus.
