Me&you mobile cuts data prices

The unlimited voice service is really good and quality is excellent in my area

The online self-help is excellent, but the call centre sucks something horrible. I wish I could get in there and fix those processes!

Not much pricing sense between 2GB and 5GB.

Why do you say that? People who would've normally bought a 2GB bundle based on their consumption patterns will now most likely go for the 5GB option - at only R50 more and half the price per MB. The customer seemingly scores but so does the service provider - its highly likely that the ordinary 2GB user who goes for this 5GB package will not drastically change their consumption patterns. Meaning that out of the 5GB bundle, they'll probably use 2.5-3.5GB only - an effective data rate of 12c-8c per MB... Advantage for service provider: secure R50 incremental revenue upfront and hedge your bets on the consumption patterns of the ordinary 2GB bundle user not changing too much...

I agree with Pravan - When signing my contract I was offerred R20 more for 500mb of data extra. If I look at what I have used over the time I probably have not used my original bundle so the R20 pm is just pure cream.

Don't kno about you, but I go beserk on the last day of the month :p

Well, I am very happy with my contract. I certainly believe that in my case, I get more value for money compared to when I was with Vodacom.

Agreed. The 1GB and 2GB bundles should be half the price they are.

Well it means those that buy the 1GB bundle are getting royally shafted. The 1GB and 2GB bundles should be half the price they are.

You obviously don't have ADSL.

I really wish journalists would stop using the phrase 'slashes costs' when an operator slightly reduces prices.

Together with "shock" and "slams". It's irritating that I skip over those articles most of the time.

.

I don't disagree with you but no one is forcing you to buy anything. It's the same with interest rates on short term low value loans vs long term high value loans. Short term low value borrower gets shafted on the interest rate much more than the long term high value borrower who committed to much more...

I agree that Me&You would do well to look at cuts in the lower end - even starting with cuts from 200MB. A good product manager should be able to see where to come in there
