From memory, skirt steak is actually relatively cheap when you can get it.

From digging a bit, you might find it labeled as brisket in this country.

We have some weird labeling for meat in this country at times.

Check is something I would use in stews, and diced up brisket as well.

Never though of cooking it like a steak, but it might be worth a try.

I love fat on a steak! It is the best part! It is the reason why I really dig rump. Me and a friend went to dinner and movies last week Friday @ Monte Casino, and decided to go to Meat Co. Had the rump and they cooked it just the way I like it. Nice and pink, but not bloody. Only gripe I had was that there was hardly any fat on my rump! /sad panda

at krugmans grill in CPT they offer your rump with fat or without

and if you say with fat they give you like 3 small pieces of joy on the side of the fatless rump

not sure if they still offer it as i last went about a year ago
