Meatless Monday

Vegetarians / Vegans / hippies want to have every person know that they are vegan / vegetarian and that makes them annoying.

If you don't want to eat meat, don't, no need to tell / lecture everyone.

While I do agree that some of them are annoying, not all of them are like that. I never tell anyone unless we're eating somewhere and they ask me why I ordered something meatless. If they don't ask, they don't know.

I've never lectured anyone ever about it and never will. By partner isn't vegan and I've never forced him to be and never lectured him about the chicken burger he ordered or whatever.

I don't know if you have this problem but people make such a big deal about it if you're the only one not eating meat. That's why I prefer to keep it to myself.

I do have that problem :p I just keep it to myself.

Went to a dinner on Saturday and some ignoramus asked me if I took tablets to get protein...

So true. Humans have been conditioned to ostracise those who do not go with the crowd. Sometimes I just don't feel like drinking when I go out, and immediately become a target of silly jokes and ridicule as if what they are doing is somehow better. The same goes for vegetarianism and halaal meat etc. People should really learn to stfu and respect others' point of view.

Lol.

Oh look, a vegetarian won the woman's Comrades yesterday. Must have cheated.

The levels of ignorance around food truly is astounding.

Man, don't confuse vegetarians/vegans with Vegangelicals. I got friends who don't eat meat and you wouldn't know it unless you offered them a burger. And even then they would just say "no thanks", unless pushed.

Then where do you get the meaty goodness from? Actually, there is a reason behind this line of questioning. You see, a person ignorant of a topic (is this instance, veganism) is not therefore an ignoramus. Their ignorance would have to be widespread.

While that might be true, the fact that people think one must eat meat to get protein is just silly.

And the ignoramus I was referring to is just that...an idiot.

It is my experience that one who asks questions seeks to eliminate their ignorance. I trust your belief that s/he is an idiot is based on other factors, then, that you are not sharing (presumably as they are unrelated).

Yep, he works with me.

I read as far as meat can cause type 2 diabetes, had a good chuckle and stopped reading.

Meatless Monday vs Meatloaf Monday… I'll stick with meatloaf. ;)
