Hi all, some advise required please.

I currently have a 1000va Mecer in line UPs that runs on 2 x 12 volt 9ah batteries (in the box) and and additional 4 x 12volt 9ah external.
they are connected as 3x parallel blocks with (2x battries in series (creating 24volt per block).

i have now acquired a 2000va Mecer in line ups that hosts all 6 x 12 volt batteries in the box, but all videos and tutorials point to a 6 x series connection creating a 72volt system,

However the 2000va system switches off after only 3 minutes (on the series setup), on the same load that could run on the first 1000va setup for 3.5 hours (series and parallel setup) , i have checked and double checked the settings etc and all seems good.

now the question, can i setup the batteries on the 2000va in the same setup 3 x parallel (2 battery in series) blocks and will it run?

any guidance will be appreciated before i blow the circuitry.

You just need to match the voltage of the UPS, after that you can set them up in any configuration you like, as long as the input to the UPS is exactly as specified in the specs.

It will also take more time to charge.
