Hey every one.
I just bought one of those touch screen multimeida PC's from mecer. Model L19IA.
It's got a built in 19" LCD, and 3.4GHz Celeron CPU.
I've upgraded the hard drive to 1TB.
I need to upgrade the CPU to something that is NOT celeron.
I cannot find specs on this system though. I need to find the best CPU that this system can take.
Mustek said It does not support Duel Core. Pitty.
It has LGA775 Socket. It uses the 915G chipset. They do not have any documentation on this thing any more. No one at Mustek/Mecer can give me solid info. They also said it can take a max of 2GB ram? WTF? It has 2 DDR2 Sockets. What will happen if I insert 2 x Corsair 2GB sticks? Seeing as It will do some video transcoding from time to time, i was hoping to have a bit more than 2gb ram

The system will be mounted on my wall to Control all DLNA aspects of my Media. It will be loaded with Windows Home server, and Twonky Media to publish media via DLNA.
My TV is a Samsung 550 series 40" that can read DLNA streams from devices on the network.

My Questions then:
What is the best cpu i can fit in this system.
Can any one offer me documentation on this system.
is 2gb really the max amount of ram it can take?
Any alternatives to Twonky?

Mecer, the king of no documentation. Best bet is to open it up and try find what motherboard it is and go from there.

I have opened it once. What a mission! It is worse than those old olivetti machines.
you remove 20 screws, that nothing can come off yet :-(

I will try and open it again the weekend.

Does mustek have a factory or are they only rebranding chinese made electronics?
If that is the case, perhaps If I can find the original manufacturer I can get a little further.
