Hi
I have just installed a Lithium battery to the Mecer sol i bb m1.
The unit will now not power up even when the power supply is connected.
Does that mean the battery is under charged or is there something else I am misiing?

Measure voltage if nothing apply 12v to battery while connected to inverter, ie use an old/spare transformer/switching psu from any device to jumpstart the battery

Or use the old battery

Some inverter/ups want to see the battery present before switching on or charging

And The lithium if discharged or in some other protection mode wants to see power from inverter to switch on

Both waiting for the other
And you touching the terminals with any power source that will make them both see 12v will get them both going

Thank you. I will use the old battery.
I checked the voltage of the new battery before installing and it was 13v. But once installed, and checking the voltage where the battery connects to the circuit board. I am only getting 8v with the Mains connected.

That doesn't seem right
I was more thinking o
If for some reason the new one was showing no voltage then you would need to do the jump start procedure to get it going

was the device working properly when you exchanged the battery, ie just not lasting long enough because the old battery is useless

or was there some catastrophic event with the machine dead? And then you thought maybe it is the battery and got a new one

The unit was working as expected. Just battery life was short to I opted to exchange for lithium.
I tried booting with secoundary battery but that did not work.
I can only assume something has happend during the installation of the new battery,
