Mecer u1800 USB/Infrared adapter

Anybody have a driver for this device? A friend of mine cannot get it working on XP pro. If it is plug and play enabled it probably is busted. If there are drivers, anybody have it?

Its plug and play, XP sp2 should just pick it up.
