My computer (98se) cannot find the correct drivers for this modem, even though I have the disc.

As soon as I plug in, I get a message "New Hardware Found" (DynaMiTe USB modem)and then go through the usual folderol until I get to "Driver" and I tick "specify a location" browse and find the driver (I know it's there...), but nothing happens.

What gives?

PM me with your email address - I have the drivers for USB ADSL modem...

Not sure how to attach to this message, but Im on Skype / MSN as well if you need them.

Erm, I think you stated the cause of your headache in the first line of your posting: "98se"

Do you realize that Vista is going to be the FOURTH generation to follow that one?

Thanks all.

I upgraded to 2000. Everything's fine after being messed around by Telskom for two weeks while various lines were yanked and replaced randomly and incorrectly, destroying any semblance of the ability to communicate with my clients.

I've just been somewhat reluctant to upgrade because my system is ancient and everything was working very well with all the 98SE drivers that came with it back in the day. Conflicts all over the place at the moment, but otherwise not bad.
