Mecer Xpression 2010 - W765CU. Any good?

I need a laptop, and for +-R7500 this seems to be the best option.

Anyone got one of these? Is it worth it? Because I cant find a better deal for this price.
And is it better to get Windows 7 in 32 or 64 bit? How much of a difference would I notice? Because I can get the 64 bit version for no extra price. Would I require more RAM though if I take the 64bit version?

I don't have one yet but considering ordering this over the Asus equivalent spec laptops to save a few thousand Rands.

Worth it? I would say so. But not sure about build quality.

To see any difference between 32-bit and 64-bit, you need to upgrade the RAM to 4GB.

With 2GB RAM, the difference would be minimal or non-existant.

Maybe someone else who has purchased the MEcer laptop can comment on the build quality and any niggling issues.

I think it has a 2-year warranty so should be ok, but only if you're going to remain in SA for the next 2 years. No international support.

What exactly would you be using the laptop for?
Got this laptop, though the i3 version. Performance wise, it does really well but the build quality is not the best out there. It feels very plasticy when opened compared to the Dell's and HP's I've previously used and i didn't like the cheap feeling keyboard when I first got it, but I'm used to it now and don't notice.
Trackpad is also good albeit a bit small- installed new drivers for gesture support and works well.
Also the onboard speakers are not the best, especially when in a noisy environment. I'm using windows 7 (32bit), with 2GB of ram and it works perfect.
Been using it for 2 weeks now and can say that it is worth the price- seeing that you get superior performance to anything else in this price range.
I needed a well performing laptop for studying/personal use and am happy that I got my moneys worth.
