Mechanical Keyboards

I recently got the CM Trigger (Cherry Blues) and was expecting it improve my typing experience. The complete opposite has happened. It now takes me almost twice as long to create and edit documents, I find it so fiddly.

Has anyone else moved across from a normal cheapo keyboard to one of these, and found themselves wanting to go back?

Am considering selling the Trigger now.

I moved from a Logitech Multimedia keyboard to a Razer Blackwidow (Ultimate) and it's amazing to say the least. Especially the fun I'm having when I am busy typing ;)

I love my BW Ultimate as well. It doesn't get terribly good reviews and apparently Razer have a reputation of making poor quality products, but personally I haven't found any issues with it. It types very nicely, it's easy to press keys - so much so that sometimes I press the A key while playing a FPS, without even realizing it - the noise is awesome and t backlighting and macro functions are pretty great too. I honestly can't fault it.

I absolutely love the feeling of typing on my new Corsair Vengence K90 (Cherry MX Red). I would've preferred keys that would actuate at a smaller distance than just 2mm though - something like the laptop keyboards.

Currently I'm still making a lot of mistakes, since I'm used to a wave form keyboard (Logitech Wave/K350).

I'm not sure if I can recommend a mechanical keyboard for people working in an open area because even the Cherry MX Red is making a lot of noise compared to my Logitech Wave keyboard!

I wouldn't recommend it for an office environment. Something about it being uncool to have to kill your colleagues just so they won't complain about you typing away on a mechanical keyboard.

I have to update this thread to say that I'm slowly starting to like this keyboard. It's taking time as it's quite a different style from what I'm used to, and considering all the different keyboards I use throughout the day this is by far the most 'different'.

I'm sure within a few weeks I'll be very fond of it.

Msg me if you still want to sell... :p Got a friend interested. :D
