Hi

So I was given a mede8er600X3D a few months back and was thrilled about it. Takelot has it for sale for R1795 at the moment.

It doesnt have a wifi connection (adaptor can be purchased) but can connect with the LAN cable. While I enjoy that it organises my media files with ease and even has the option to view trailers and a synopis I am disappointed with the rest of its functions.

The content available like Snagfilms is outdated and never heard of, YouTube isn't YouTube but a search application to find video's instead and most of all, you can't get access to stuff like ShowBox or Megabox HD.

Does any else own one of these players and am I using it wrong?

Sounds about right. I bought one 3 years ago and initially firmware updates were frequent, but the last update was a year ago

Great for streaming content from a local file server but the extra's don't really work for me. You mightwant to look at kodi/ for a more feature rich experience

Yes, unfortunately they don't make them future proof

I had the AC Ryan that was brilliant but overnight the Youtube and TED apps stopped working and they stopped doing updates. So sad because there is absolutely nothing wrong with the thing and was strong enough to do full HD

We've had one for years. Works really great as a fairly basic multi media player, streaming and playing files from a local server. But browsing the internet is not really what it was designed for and I doubt you will get much use out of it if that is your intention.
