Media Player/PC help!!!!

Hey guys...

Can anyone tell me why there is a username and password required when accessing the pc folders via my media player.
How do I get rid of this?
I could access the folders yesterday by entering the username and password once. Now it seems the username and password ain't working.
Any help please guyz....

In Network and Sharing Centre, advanced sharing options for home network, turn off the password requirement option.
 
Telling me "Logon Failed" evrytime I enter the username and password...
This is with the password off option chosen in the advanced sharing screen
 
I have had that issue before (older media players & win 7 machines), in order to connect I had to set a user & password on the PC I was connecting to. Bit of a pain, but solved the issue. My newer medi8er works a charm, no user or password needed....
 
IRG...

What ya mean? Where did you set this use& p/word or do you mean you created a seperate account on your pc?
 
On my PC I had left the password blank for my user profile. So I just added the password, so when you connect from your media device, use your profile name and password for the PC.

Yeah that was working yesterday. Today it's not.
I was using my username and password yesterday..
Damn this is frustrating
 
Yeah... Just did an upgrade earlier. Still no damn luck with this silly user and password problem. Created another user with and without password and it still doesn't wanna work. From my pc I can get into the media players data but can't get into the pc's data because it wants this user and password
 
Anyone here by chance that has had the same problem? I just can't seem to get rid of the user and password. I also can't understand why it's not accepting the user and password I'm entering as it is the correct details I use for my pc

Create a new user with a password on your pc and try use that
 
hey, i also have the same problem, I have tried all the suggestions, network setting changes, registry setting changes, the problem still persists!

can anyone else help?

I am doing this on windows 8, I have tried to disable firewall, switch off real time protection on the Avira AV.

I can see my PC name on the Media Player, but when I try to logon it says, 'Logon failed'!

Please help!!!
