hi guys

AT first glance this router seems ok, port forwarding works like a bomb, and hey it was free...
BUT, HTF do i activate remote access and or management?!? I have enabled a dyndns service and the ip is being reported correctly when i ping the router, but it seems that in order to enable remote access you need the ip of the machine that will be accessing the router, this seems totally retarded to me for two reasons:
1: only one ip can access the router remotely at a time
2: once your ip changes, which ours tends to do in south africa, you're screwed!

is there any other way/workaround? is there a firmware update which solves this problem?

Thanks,

Hi Nickd,

You could just enter 0.0.0.0 to allow connections from any IP ... of cause we have given the option to tie the connection down to 1 IP or 1 Network for security purposes, because some people in this country do actuarly have fixed IP addreses ..

Just trying to give options ...

Port Forwarding - Radmin

I am also trying to enable port forwarding on my Mega-100WR. I need to remotely access my home pc from the office on port 4897 for radmin. I have enabled the port forwarding according to the manual and info found here
http://portforward.com/english/rout.../Mega-100WR/radmin_-_Remote_Administrator.htm but still i get "can't connect to server" message. I can pint the dns name that is registered with dyndns. Is there anything else i need to set. i've diabled windows firewall and the router firewall but not progress. btw i can access the radmin server from within the LAN.

Please help.
