No

Iv'e got one and it doesn't either , maybe you should call telkom ,,,,,,,, NOT!:D
you'll get more help at checkers than at telkom so it's pretty much a lost case exept if someone els can help you(i'm not good with routers:D)

Any kind souls willing to lend /me their router so I can figure out what to do?

Will appreciate it!

Thanks.

have you upgraded your 100wr with the newer firmware? You can find it at http://www.telkomphones.co.za//mega100.htm. Just go into your administration page on your router, browse to ADVANCED-->FIRMWARE UPGRADE== and then locate the new firmware file and update. just make a backup of your router settings via the GET CONFIGURATION.

This will change your router into the 100wr2 or something of that kind and is supposed to fix the bridge mode glitch.

If all else fails, burn the router, incinerate the remains and go buy a proper one like you should have a long time ago.

Mine's in bridge mode, with the firmware it came with ~1 year ago. And working with smoothwall PPPOE :)

I suppose you'll want to know why? I'll look at the settings this evening, not at the site now.

The firmware upgrade is to solve not only some problem in bridge mode, but several other problems too. Except that they have now broken the wireless setup so the WPA/WPA2 doesn't work anymore.

Ya, is trying to get a smoothie up and running on a remote site - and I'm not present

This is what I have set up ... afaik it is the complete set of steps you need to take but I may have forgotten something. This is for bridged mode only (you can have multiple kinds of connection at a time but I have not found a need for that).

Log into Mega100WR admin console at e.g. http://10.0.0.2/cgi-bin/webcm, user admin. You will of course have previously changed the default password which is admin.

Click Advanced in the top menu bar. Mouse-over WAN in the side menu and click quickstart in the fly-out menu.

In the Type: dropdown box select Bridge. Click Apply. All the other input fields should now be greyed out (and you should have VPI=8 VCI=35, I think this can be important).

It should now work, but you must click Save settings on the top menu bar otherwise they will not persist after a reboot.

I also disabled the wireless access point to ensure all traffic goes through my firewall.

Does anybody have an idea though how to connect via bridge mode if you're running Ubuntu?
