Hey guys,

I hope this is the right place to post this message so here goes :

My client just got her 100WR and I did the installation thereof and everything is fine.

She is also running a wireless network in the house between her daughters' PC's and now the router. The 2PC's both have Gigabyte Aircruiser G wireless cards and are connected to each other via a Gigabyte GN-AP01G Wireless Access Point.

The wireless network was set up with no security (to troubleshoot) and was working fine, they could share files / printers without hassle.

The problem is that I need to get them connected (via that access point) to the ADSL router.

I have gone into the AP's configuration and set its DHCP off, (I've changed its IP Address to 10.0.0.50 to fall in line with the Telkom Routers' auto assigned IP's, I've got it on Channel 11 and the same SSID as the Telkom Router.

I have on the Telkom router got the MAC address of the AP in the WDS configuration (with the router set for Bridge mode, Activate as Root is ticked and the AP MAC address is in the Downlink 1 field).

I have under Management got "Enable Access List" on and the MAC address of the AP is in there also.

My problem is that the 2 PC's connected via the AP to the router wont autoassign IP's and thus wont connect to the Internet.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else I can try?

PS: The Client PC's pick up the Access point and the Router as "Infrastructure" (dont know if that really makes a difference)

How Far is the ADSL Router? if its close then just connect the access piont to the routers lan ports with cat5 cable

you can probably tell I'm feeling a little idle today... trawling the forums & chucking my 5c around...

I don't think suggesting cat5 was a useful suggestion... I've had issues using WDS on different manufacturer's devices. It can be a headache to get working... I also have seen that the Telkom router DHCP server doesn't seem to be all that reliable, most notably when the signal is not that good.

If you have 'enable access list' set on, you should have ALL the MAC's of ALL the devices that are allowed to connect. From what I understand, you are limiting connection to the Telkom router to the WDS partner only?

Have you tried setting static IP's with the Telkom router IP as DNS & Gateway? If this works, you can use the main AP as your DHCP server, and switch the Telkom router DHCP off...
