:(Limewire refuses to connect?? any ideas on how to set up upnp? P2P speeds are 2-3K:eek:

log on to your router: 10.0.0.2, enter details. Click on advanced on the top.

Hover your mouse over "applications" on the left, you will see a list come up. see if the light next to "UpnP" is green, if its not, click on UPnP and then tick the enable option. Then below that select which WAN connection you are currently using. Choose LAN Group 1 in the following option. Click apply and then click Save Settings on the top left of the screen. I sometimes forget to do that.

Now that that is sorted out, open up limewire. Click on tools on the top, then options. Then on the bottom op the box that opened, click on Advanced, it will open up a list underneath it, Click on firewall config and then make sure option "Use UPnP (Recommended)" is selected. And then just click apply and then OK. Restart Limewire. and maybe your router too just to be on the safe side.

ive done that but my torrent and p2p speeds are still 3-4K?
im on telkom 384k shaped.
what are the normal speeds for p2p?

just set it up quickly (using frostwire) and on my 4meg line getting around 40kB/s. Tools --> Options --> Firewall Config. Set listening port and manual port forward to a port. Then I went into the router and made sure the port was open under port forwarding.

Advanced --> Application --> Port Forwarding
Click User
Click New
Fill in the details (in Port Start, End and Map I normally enter the same port I want open). Press Apply.
Click Cancel.
Your rule should appear under available rules. Click on it then click on Add.
Click Apply.
Click Save Settings.

Don't think it's necessary to reboot the router but you might want to do that anyway.
