Hi guys

I have a mega 105wr. This morning my internet wasn't working so i looked at the router and found that all the network lights were on even though there was only one network cable plugged in. I restarted the router and even tried holding the reset button on the back. They still all come on. The router syncs properly. if I use the wireless then the router still words normally. It's just the network ports. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

Did it possibly get struck by lightning? I have a 105WR that was hit by lightning and has those exact symptoms.

I have the opposite problem, my wireless died from the electricity going out.

Did you try moving the network cables around?

Does your local network not work at all?

How many PC's connect to the router?

I used to have the mega 105wr and to be honest it was a piece of sh**. Telkom knew it and that is why they stopped selling it. Bought myself a Netgear DGN 2000 and life has been sweet.

Sorry I know this doesn't help anything but I would suggest to anyone using that modem to buy a new one.

I'm not sure if it was struck by lightening. I was also thinking that seen as there was a storm last night. I did try moving the network cables around. but nothing. even without any cables in all the lights remain on. The router connects to a switch. the switch is still working properly and all network card ports are fine. and the router would sync. Perhaps it is time to start looking at getting a new router

So does your Lan work? Can your PC connected to your router see the one connected through the wireless? It is odd that all the lights are on with no cable plugged in. Seems likely that something got damaged.

Although this isn't an answer to your problems, I would suggest saving up and buying a new router. The Mega 105 I had from Telkom worked great when we first got it, only to have it lock up every 7 days due to a memory leak I think. Could never get any support for it, so in the end I just bought a new router. Most likely, something got damaged due to a lightning strike or power surge, either in the router itself or the power brick.

Yeah. Going to get a Netgear router i think. Its defiantly the router as i tried with different power supplys. Thanks for the help
