Hey there,

I have an 8Gb micro sd card. When I connect it to my PC is says I have 4Gb free, which makes sense. I also checked under my phone under storage and it also say 4Gb free.

When I click the option under Make More space - for internal storage and move apps to the SD card, it throws an error saying: Not enough free space. How is this when its only 400mb of Apps?

Tx

My HTC Wildfire S did it a lot, as well as my Samsung Galaxy Ace.

Restart the phone and try again.

*If your internal storage is very low, it's not gonna work. You'll have to uninstall a app or two.

Did you by any chance buy the memory card on the side of the road or china mall or even in Taiwan or china etc?

I thought the exact same thing. Even the cards and USB stick sold at China Town in Ottery are suspect. I now take a laptop with me to check it there and then. So called "Kingston" cards and USB sticks only go as far as the printed label. Friend bought a 32gb USB on the side of the road. It turned out to give 2Gb. I told him that under the circumstances, he was doing quite well.

yep they pretty much buy the older 2GB or less cards, then 'hack' the firmware to read as higher capacity, th only way to see (that i currently know off) the actual space is to fill it up with files, once you reach the true capacity it will gve you the not enough space error.

The above post should be compulsory reading for bargain hunters

No I did not buy the memory card. Sorry I didn't mention it but it came with my phone and I doubt they gave me a fake.
