i have 3 512 meg ram they are transend

will a 1 gig stick work with one of 512's

i know the answer to this one just wanna make sure

will corsair value select 1 gig works with transend 512?

yes i know it wont just wont someone to tell without a doubt they wont work :)

If you have 4 RAM slots yes it will work.
You might want to buy all the same type of RAM. All transend or Corsair. Not have some of each. Make sure they are all the same DRR 400 or 333. The Ram will underclock itself if its put in after the slowest chip - so this is not too much of a problem.

If you want a price on the 1GB Transend stick pm me.

BTW the value select is crap, it should not even be called Corsair as its made by Hynix... :-(

in theory it should work, in practice it depends on the timing

best way is to try it, and don't forget to wear helmet :D

What motherboard? I know some boards have some configuration issues, like requiring the 1GB in certain slots and the 512MB in certain slots. Also, 1GB + 512MB will not run in dual-DDR mode, and you might have to have them in slots 1 and 3 respectively - or have 1 and 2 full before you can put anything in 3.

Just what i was going to say

I'd say that it should work (or at least I can see no reason for it to not work) but you'd have to try.

Person, you managed to find that s-video doohickey yet? :)

I know lots of people would have said that, because its true.

It will work, just not dual channel. You can put it in any slot you want.

Whats the best cheapish RAM to get? I thought it was Corsair Value.
Appartenly Not...

Corsair® ValueSelect™ Series 1GB DDR400 184-Pin Desktop Memory: 6-Layer PC Board, Retail Packaging - Life-Time Warranty R 866.06 incl
Kingston® ValueRam™ Series 1GB DDR2-533 240-Pin Memory Module : 6-Layer PC Board, Life-Time Warranty R 853.86 incl
Transcend® DDR400 1GB 184-pin: PC3200, CL2.5/3 clock, 6-layer PCB, Retail Package, life-time warranty R 853.86 incl

I prolly doesn't matter if you're not planning to overclock... but I would go for the Kingston value because I like the brand. I'm using Transends and Hynix chips in most of my machines and I've never had a problem.

I've got a 1GB Hynix and a 512MB Transend in a Jetway motherboard (AMD 754) and it works well.

well ive got 3 512 meg transend buyikng the 1 gig stick from rectron today will let you know how it goes

But which is the best?
I would say the Transcend, its not a cheap v. of some other RAM. But no one has ever taken the time to test these cheap RAMs so really i dont have the facts to back that up.

when will your site be up, so that I can browse so long. I just bought a ps 2 yesterday, so in the next month or so I will start with the pc.

Do you know of a adapter that I can use to connect the ps2 to a pc (VGA) monitor? or something in that line?
