Mental Block at work? How to overcome it?

yea i am seeing that... will try this, very similar what Pakka says

Very similar yes. Just throw in some time to mess around to reward yourself as well dont try and push all the time.

Definitely try resolve this. I was in the same boat a few years back when a huge "home issue" relating to my daughters health affected my work. I ignored it and got addicted to the internet as an escape and eventually it resulted in management noticing and me getting called out about it by my boss and my bosses boss. Fortunately they liked me a lot and so asked kindly and where very understanding about the situation when I explained it but it could have cost me my job. Managed to work through it and banned myself from places like this for about a year until I could be sure I had the amount of time I spend on the net at work under control but it was very serious.

Anyways, good luck. The sad thing is that that conversation was all that I needed to find the focus (driven by fear of losing my job). Would have been much better had I managed without the boss having to intervene. So try not involve them if you can as you don't know how they will react. At the same time its crucial to carry your weight at work. Non productive staff lose respect among their teams over time and eventually destroy their name and thus lose their jobs.

Perhaps try some random things like taking a 5 min walk every hour or something that gives you time away from the problem but then when you are at your desk be there and be focused.

From a hormone side, manage your levels of things like cortisol, dopamine, and testosterone. Extremely high levels affect you just as bad as extremely low levels, and these will affect your cognitive ability. Eat healthy, exercise and socialise. Hormones affect all of our daily functions, it isn't even funny.
