Mentaly challenged jobs

Hi Guys,

Ok so my brother had meningitis when he was younger and now has brain damage he is 35 he can speak 100% and in general unless he tells you or you have long conversations you wouldnt know the difference the problem comes in that he cant read, he has worked in other companies before as a landscaper and lots of other tidbits right now i look after him but hes getting frustrated sitting at home and really wants to start working again i Promised him i will look for him ... i just have no idea where to start looking ? any idea?

I noticed on this website a while back that they do recruitment for people with disabilites. Maybe they can help you.

why not help him start his own landscaping business?

You could ask Headway for help? (http://www.headway-gauteng.org/index.html) Your brother might be higher functioning than their usual patients, but they are really empathetic and really well connected with the relevant peeps.

Even if your circumstances don't fit their bill exactly, I'm sure they will be able to point you in the right direction. My sister was with them before we left SA and I only have good memories about their compassion and their support.
