Random question; what high-end audio brand makes the best in-car sound?

I think this Meridian option to the latest latest Range Rover is an option...

So many other top companies out there: Bose; Harman Kardon; Naim etc

The Mark Levinson stuff is also pretty good.

I wouldn't really rave about Bose, Harmon/Karden etc though

I've got the Meridian 800W system on my RR. Sound is sublime through those speakers, but as in most audio high end, if your music source is shyte, then expect the Meridian system to highlight the shyteness ! If there is such a thing as audiophile car audio, then I'd stick my neck out and say that this Meridian system comes pretty darn close to car audiophile nirvana.

Gimme a ride?

Most of the luxury car manufacturers have a partnership with a high end audio manufacturer to supply premium audio :

Burmester - Mercedes Benz & Porsche
Bang & Olufsen - Audi
Naim - Bentley
B & W - Jaguar & Maserati
Sonus Faber - Pagani Huyara
Morel - Pagani Zonda

I'm pretty sure bang is used by more than just Audi.

Audi, bmw, Merc, Aston, and a couple of others I believe

Mine is not a complete list. Just what I could think of at the time.

B&O and Bose are used by many motor manufacturers.

The best car audio I've ever heard are the flagship systems from JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate. By a million miles.

The aftermarket audio guys have a lot to say about the 'high end' audio options from luxury auto manufacturers. In a nutshell, they claim it's a total scam. Sure, they usually sound nice, but the car brand is laughing all the way to the bank. It's not nearly as good as what your money could buy elsewhere, and they never give you a subwoofer worth a damn. Often the audio brand just supplies the equaliser settings and branding badges.

I added a rather expensive Rockford subwoofer to my car, and the difference it makes to every genre I play is extraordinary.

My step-dad has a RR Sport with the Meridian sound and it certainly is very nice. The low range is useless unfortunately. Is it worth the money though? Not by a long shot imo.
