He started his career with SAPT and Telkom SA in 1984, in the voice division, eventually heading up a national portfolio in the Telematics (non-voice) division in 1998. Mervyn joined MWEB in 1998 where he held various management positions in technology strategy, software development and programme management. He served as General Manager for technology operations, until his appointment as CTO in 2005. Mervyn also serves on the Naspers CIO council and NMSCOM shared services company board of directors.
Qualifications
Mervyn Goliath holds undergraduate qualifications in Telecommunications Engineering, as well as Information Systems and Computer Science (UNISA). He has completed an executive postgraduate scholarship in Advanced Telecommunications Management with Deutsche Telecom and Siemens AG in the Republic of Germany during 1996/97. He is currently completing a BCom (Honours) degree in Information Systems.
