Messaging Device Suggestion?

Samsung i600 will cover all your needs. R869 pay in on Weekender. I was a little worried about getting a Samsung, but so far I'm incredibly impressed. (Takes a lot to impress me).

Battery life? compared to your other smartphones - I am getting conflicting reports but none the less, I am picking my i600 up this afternoon. Taking the chance and switching from Nokia for a change. Does the i600 charge via the USB connection?

I went to check out a TyTN dummy today at VodaShop in Howard Centre (Pinelands). The phone fit perfectly in my pocket and hands!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

The nice thing is this phone comes with two batteries (one standard and one extended) and a charger, so you can charge one while you're using the other in your phone. Battery life seems a little better than my Nokia N70. I'm not sure if the i600 charges via USB. Would be nice though.

AFAIK it (the i600) does charge by USB, but browsing other message boards, it seems to a bit buggy. But yeah, it did appeal to her, and the dual included batteries are great.

At this stage, it is between the Nokia e61 and i600. Does anybody know how internet browsing is on the i600? Does it do a good job of resizing websites to fit on the small screen?

The e70 has never been available on Vodacom - very sucky. :(

I have never relied on integrated browsers, both opera mobile and operaMini do fantastic jobs!! Well, thats if your phone is supported. Thinking about this, does OperaMini works on the TyTN-ian?

Got mine yesterday and it does charge via USB - synced perfectly with Outlook but having hassels to sync with Groupwise which is what we use at work - but still looking around for a solution.

The i600 comes with the the standard internet explorer mobile which in general is sucky.

I agree totally.. the e70 is a brilliant phone. Been using one now for 4 months on Vodacom and have not had one stall or crash... speed is also muuuch better than the N70 but this could be due to the upgraded Symbian software (v3)

Agreed!! - maybe available in June.

Already out, got one on Monday!! Very nice looking!!! Just the damn mem cards are different so I havent transfered the data yet.

Where did you get the E61i??

But then again, I honestly wouldn't go for a video call-less phone, not in this time and age anyway. Lol

Yes, I too would love to know where you got it from!

I honestly haven't made more than 2 video calls my entire 2 year contract period with my 6680... Although I do enjoy camera on the phone as there is always something you wish to take a quick photo of.

It's not about using it, but about having it!!! Some of us only make and receive sms's and calls but they still need top of a range phones. Do u get my drift?
