So I was told to expect delivery of my new vehicle in early june(placed an order mid April) , after much effort from my side to get hold of the sales person the sales person now changes her tune and advises me the car will only be produced mid june delivery backend of August. This is after being told that the car and spec was already available and that they got the car for me and it would arrive in sa late may (all this on email)and shows me papers with my name on it. I have already reported the matter to vwsa what other recourse do I have, I was in the final process of selling my current car, now I have to pull out as I need the car for a further 3 or so months.
I originally had a different colour in mind but after meeting with the sales person she told me they have the stock but with a different colour and I should take this other colour or I would have to wait for another car which would take months , funny thing I now I will have to wait 5 months either way due to the sales persons incompetance.

Find another dealer who will accomodate you and provide you the vehicle you have ordered in a timely fashion

As for the other colour issue, if they have it in stock and it meets your spec completely in everything else. Tell them to drop the price by 10% and you'll take it in the other colour.

I don't know how helpful this is, but won't the CPA law work in your favour for this, assuming you already paid for the car. I stand to be advised or corrected on this!

Cancel the deal and take your money elsewhere. But I suspect you will hang in there and just take what they give.

I haven't signed the papers yet, I had my finance approved in April and the bank was dealing directly with the dealer, in sure the bank was also waiting for the eta of the vehicle. I think I'm going to call another dealer tomorrow and ask them if they can take over the deal due to poor customer service and misinformation, I don't want to lose my quoted price though as I got a small discount and the car price also subsequently increased in the last month. I don't want the dealership to benefit from commission when they don't deserve it.
