Metrofibre is my ISP. I was very impressed when they announced that they will double my speed at the same price as I paid before. They installed a Nokia Beacon 2 Router. Works well for downstairs but not for upstairs.
Had the same issue before and used a mesh network to deal with this. Now the Beacon 2 can only provide a wireless mesh with another Beacon 2. Running a wire to use my existing Deco’s is not possible.
I asked them if I can buy an additional Beacon 2 to create a mesh network. They said no as the mesh capability is still being tested? Can this be right since the Beacon 2 provides native mesh support?
I also asked if I can use my Deco as a router and was told that this is not possible as it does not have the Metrofibre software loaded?
So I am forced to use the Beacon 2 with no possibility in the short term to create a mesh network as I cant use a cable to create a access point to run the mesh from.
Not happy and Metrofibre is also not very responsive.
