Offering a 40Gb fibre backbone - end plan is to use it to broadcast 2010 soccer and offer data services to local business.
The initial price plan was for connection speed, not data usage. It looked expensive but was planned to come down in price once more users were on it.
It uses Fibre to each node, then long range ethernet to the user.
I know it is in in from Amanzimtoti(?) to Ballito, triangle to Hillcrest, as well as in PMB.
Ive been out of the loop for around 9 months . . . anyone got any further info on it (Hint to DD and IS staff!!! - come guys give us info)

Telkom is NOT involved at all.
Fibre in Durban is all owned by Dbn Metro Council. Bandwidth from IS.
Telkom cannot touch it :-)
