Can someone assist me how to contact Metroweb? My brother has a paid mailbox with them on their @metroweb.co.za domain and it stopped working yesterday. There is no response on 086 11 11 440 or +27 011-675-2200 or [email protected]. Email to them is not bouncing. Their domain is paid up according to co.za. Anyone that can assist?

Anyone know whether ISP Metroweb has gone out of business? Have not been able to contact them since 22 April.

Hi guys,

This seems to be a problem again (still?). Does anyone know what's going on there?

Hey Internetless. Having the same problems. No email, no contact no anything. Nothing on their website or facebook to indicate problems.

Ask for [removed] (I only found the details - I have no affiliation with these guys).

Try here: [removed], and here [removed] and here [removed].

Domain is unpaid at the moment. DSL services no longer available. They host with Mweb and IS - must be a reseller of one of them...

Yip, [removed] - the owner. No answer at the above numbers earlier today. I also found these, though: [removed] & [removed]

Hi guys,

Also have an old client that phoned me today saying she hasn't been getting mails for over a week now. And she can't get hold of them. Apparently they got liquidated..?

Apparently they got liquidated..?

If so, surely the honourable thing to do would be to:

1. Let your clients know (rather than leave them guessing as is the case now)
2. Make the domain available to someone who can host at least an alternate email service for those clients (at least temporarily, to give them a chance to change their addresses!)

The domain registration fees have not been paid, and it looks like the domain has now been suspended (no longer resolves on DNS).

It is probably best to contact the Registrar and discuss the issue with them. There are procedures and policies in place to deal with these types of incidents.

The ZA Whois service will provide you with the Registrar's contact information. If the Registrar is unable to assist then you would need to contact the Registry and advise them of the situation - www.registry.net.za

The person who owns Metroweb is [removed]. His email address is
[removed], his cell no is [removed]. They are taking money from me and not providing the service. In my opinion this is theft! Its time to name and shame.

Is he still taking money from you this month, even after the domain went offline completely?

Have you been able to get hold of him?

Have you notified your bank to request a reversal and put a stop on all future debit orders?
