Never connect your devices directly to a router you don't manage. Just connect the Vodacom router to your router. That way your network is on it's own subnet. Also I guess the router has NAT and some kind of firewall. Also you can do things like mac filtering, QoS, wifi, parental control, ...... You also decide what IP range and Subnet you want to use. I personally hate 192.168.x.x/255.255.255.0 and prefer 10.0.x.x/255.0.0.0 .

Just a thought... switch off the wifi from the POS they provided and run a LAN from the Vodacom router to the WAN on your xiaomi.
The reason I got this router is because our connection keeps on dropping. As per Vodacom the issue is on Frogfoot side. As per Frogfoot the issue is on Vodacom side.
If I check the small fibre box, it connection light is always connected. So I can only think the issue is or router based or Vodacom side. The reason why I suspect router is if I restart the router a few times, it starts working again.

So connecting the xiaomi directly to the Vodacom router, wont fix the actual issue :(

This would be Double NAT... something you definitely want to avoid!

Try connect a computer to the LAN port of the Vodacom router and see if you still experience any disconnection, you will want to rule out WiFi first. If you do, then it can only be either the router or the connection.

What you can also do is to request the connection status from your provider (Frogfoot), and see how many times has the connection reestablished itself. If you see many, then definitely something wrong with the connection or router. Ask them to send a technician on-site to troubleshoot.

Hope you get it right!
