The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released.
To me it seems like gross negligence on the part of the US trained doctor. He was giving narcotics and sedative-hypnotics to MJ, he should have known that there was a great danger of respiratory depression, airway obstruction, aspiration and subsequent cardiac arrest. These are basic things, and if you don't 1. Monitor the patient properly in the first instance and 2. Know what to do if problems occur (protect the airway and ventilate till paramedics arrive) - then you are not fit to prescribe or administer these potent medications.
Ok, so now it is official. It WAS a homicide. The doc will propably get charged with manslaughter.
