I have read a few threads here and many of them indicate you need a microfilter and a splitter, when setting up your adsl (self install option)

I will be ordering the following:
1 x Linksys ADSL2 Modem
1 x Linksys Wireless Access Point Router

I presume this kit does not come with any microfilters or splitters.

So, where can i get the microfilters and splitters (telkom yes, but anywhere else??)

My line at home is split, so i can connect two phones, one connection upstairs and one connection in the kitchen. I plan to connect from the upstairs line.

How many splitters and microfilters are needed, and please confirm how to connect these up (as in wall connection -> splitter -> i - modem; ii - microfilter-> phone)????

Router

Hey - why don't you simply get a wireless router and do away with the need for a separate access point. Save yourself a bundle too. Netgear routers come with supplied filters - not sure about Linksys.

Was gonna suggest that same thing - why the separate router and WIFI AP?

Micro filters - either 2 in the router box or from Telkom shop... only places AFAIK

Remember, the ADSL Filters go on the lines WITHOUT the ADSL Modem.
So in your case, put a Filter on your downstairs and kitchen phones.
Then a splitter upstairs, with a filter on one of the branches for your phone, and your ADSL modem on the unfiltered branch.

The reason is because i want a Linksys WRT54G ( specifically that model for a couple of reasons).

The WRT54G does not have its own modem, so i need to get a separate modem.

Have already got my setup working as of last week Wednesday, thanks to all those that helped, much appreciated :)
