hello

What is the deal with microdots being applied to car parts?
Has anyone applied this to their car, do you think its going to be effective?

What is a fair price to have this done?
Any good places in PTA?

Is it mandatory to have this done if I have only modified / replaced a part on my car engine?

Any advice appreciated, thanks

Ask your insurance about the implications of not having it. I got it with my new i10. Its a wonderful idea and thinking of having it done for our old car.

Not so sure on the price.

All new cars have the dots after 1 September, though most have had them for at least 18 months at this stage.

You can have the dots added at a cost of R 1700 via a dealer.

Is it that expensive? My dad had to have it done for police clearance!

Was at a road woad worth testing station in Kya Sands and they do the microdots for R550

Whatever the charge, it's too expensive, IMHO.

It's a great idea in a civilized society where people may actually care that the parts they are buying for their car are stolen or not.

As with most things added to our lives to prevent crime, it will become nothing more than a money making opportunity, and the thieves will carry on regardless!
