Microsoft bars its own employees from using Slack

Microsoft has banned the use of Slack Free, Slack Standard, and Slack Plus from its workplace, GeekWire reports.

The company circulated a list of "prohibited and discouraged" software in an internal memo to employees, citing security issues with Slack as a reason for banning its use in the company.

Another example of a poorly written article. Why not explain to those of us that dont know, what slack is used for?
From their website:

A channel for every conversation
  • Channels can be divvied up by team, project, client, or whatever else is relevant to your organization.
  • Team members can join and leave channels as needed — unlike lengthy email chains.
  • Threads keep side conversations from derailing the topic or project at hand.

Makes sense. I worked for a company who were in fierce competition with another and we weren't even allowed anything with that company's branding on the premises. Note books, pens, etc that we often pick up at expos or university.

Don't use Slack. Twist is much better and cheaper.
